2. Self-Regulation

  • Managing emotions constructively rather than being controlled by them.
  • Includes impulse control, adaptability and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Example: Staying calm during conflict instead of reacting aggressively.

3. Motivation

  • Using emotions to drive persistence, resilience and goal achievement.
  • Involves optimism, commitment and passion beyond external rewards.
  • Example: Remaining focused on long-term goals despite setbacks.

4. Empathy

  • Recognizing and understanding the emotions of others.
  • Enables compassion, perspective-taking and sensitivity to social cues.
  • Example: Sensing a colleague’s frustration and offering support.

5. Social Skills

  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships.
  • Includes communication, conflict resolution, teamwork and leadership.
  • Example: Inspiring and guiding a team through effective collaboration
