THE SECOND YEAR OF THE BHMS PROGRAM BUILDS UPON THE FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN THE FIRST YEAR AND DELVES DEEPER INTO THE MEDICAL SCIENCES WHILE CONTINUING THE STUDY OF CORE HOMEOPATHIC SUBJECTS. IT EMPHASIZES UNDERSTANDING DISEASE MECHANISMS, FORENSIC SCIENCE, AND FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF CLINICAL REASONING AND HOMEOPATHIC PHILOSOPHY.

Duration:
The second year of the BHMS program continues the five-and-a-half-year course, including the compulsory one-year internship. It typically includes two academic terms with exams at the end of each.

Basic Structure:
The second year builds upon the basics learned in the first year, focusing on the study of disease processes, infections, legal medicine, and further development in homeopathic philosophy and remedies. The curriculum integrates theoretical study with practical lab work and clinical reasoning.

Subjects Overview:
Pathology: Study of the nature, causes, and effects of diseases, including inflammation, degeneration, and tumors.
Microbiology & Parasitology: Covers microorganisms and parasites responsible for human diseases, with lab work in identification and diagnosis.
Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT): Introduction to legal aspects of medicine, post-mortem procedures, toxic substances, and medico-legal responsibilities.
Materia Medica: Continued study of homeopathic remedies with emphasis on detailed symptomatology and remedy comparison.
Organon of Medicine: Further exploration of homeopathic philosophy, chronic diseases, miasms, and refined case-taking techniques.

Practical Training:
Includes lab work in pathology and microbiology, toxicology analysis, and case-based learning in Materia Medica and Organon.

Assessment:
Evaluation through written exams, practicals, viva, lab reports, and internal assessments.
